You Light My Way
June 4, 2026 · Barbara Ruffing
A modern paraphrase of Psalm 63
You Light My Way
You patiently teach me where I should go
Your eye gives me guidance, I’m not alone
And when I can’t see what lies ahead
You steady my feet, You quiet my steps
⸻
You lead me by ways I have not known
Replacing the dim with morning hope
This is the way—Your voice is true
I will follow that way, I’ll follow You
⸻
Your word is a lamp to direct my feet
A light on the path You’ve set for me
And when my tomorrow seems unclear
I will walk by faith, for You are near. You call me to justice, mercy, and grace
To walk humbly with You for all of my days
You don’t hurry the road You set for my feet
You order each step, You lead me in peace
________
Your word is a lamp to direct my feet
A light on the path You’ve set for me
And when my tomorrow seems unclear
I will walk by faith, for You are near
And when my tomorrow seems unclear
I will walk by faith, for You are near
